grats on signing the contract.. good luck with your career in the Army and thanks for your service.. i hope to be finally signing a contract within the next couple months.. where you headed to for BCT?
Thanks. Heading off to Ft. Jackson for bct. Then off to Goodfellow AFB Texas for 29 weeks of AIT. Oh and MEPS seemed like the longest day of my life. The medical staff in LA are the most unfriendly group people you can come into contact with. Overall I'm very excited. Things are moving right along.
Just a tip, which I assume will apply to all MEPS staff. My attempt at trying to be friendly or "funny" with them failed on about 75% of the staff there. All they want to do is process you quickly and make you feel like a number. Oh, and another protip, fill up on breakfast before you head into MEPS and make sure have to pee. I went about 10 hours until I could eat again. And peeing in a cup when you have to pee is alot easier when some guy is looking over your shoulder! Good luck!

Wow sounds like you had some bad MEPS staff. The staff at mine were awesome! They'd joke and everything with me, and somehow they always remembered my name every time I had to go back to that place. One actually complimented how polite and patient I was to my recruiter, who knew? lol
But yeah don't assume they are "evil" just be courteous and polite, and your day will go fine. Listen the first time, get everything right. if you missed something, ask. Otherwise yes they will get angry if you screw up something and they have to fix it because you didn't ask.

You dont have to pee at MEPS the day you ship, unless the MEPS you go to has different policy...but you will pee at basic as soon as you arrive...yeah MEPS is pretty bad about "red carpet treatement"...they preach that but then they turn around and treat our applicants like you stated, a number.
Future 35N here. It sounds like we'll be at Goodfellow at the same time, maybe in the same class cycle. I'm skipping basic (prior service) and shipping June 30th.
Have you gone through with clearance yet? If so how did it go? If not Congrats and best of luck!
I don't get it. I'm a future 35N too, but I'm going to Ft. Huachuca and my AIT is 24 weeks.
Why?
