A little more info on who you are would help!
If you have never been in the Military or if you have been in the Military but do not have a "Feeder MOS" for the Signal Field this question is worthless to you.
The only Army Warrant Officer Specialty open to PS or NPS individuals is WOFT (Helicopter Piolot)
MOS 254A Signal Systems Support Technician
Duties: Supervises and integrates Army Battlefield Control Systems (ABCS), Local Area networks (LAN), radio systems in tactical non-signal units; and manages COMSEC facilities. Plans and implements tactical data distribution and radio systems. Provides technical assistance to user owned and operated information and communications systems. Manages the tactical Internet and administers the local area network (LAN) in tactical operation centers (TOC). Implements Information Assurance plans in tactical non-signal units. Performs COMSEC accounting management and oversight of COMSEC Accounts.
Minimum prerequisites:Preferred qualifications (Minimum plus):NOTE: A letter from a senior Signal Warrant Officer is not required. If a letter from a Warrant Officer, preferably from a Signal MOS, is included it will add weight to the overall strength of the packet.
- Be a SGT (E5) or above
- Be a BNCOC graduate.
- Four years of documented practical experience in signal systems support (SOI, CNR and COMSEC) and Local Area Network (LAN) Administration.
- Practical experience may be documented through NCO evaluation reports and award citations. In some instances practical experience acquired from civilian employment may be acceptable provided the experience is documented by employee evaluations or performance appraisals and determined to be equivalent to military experience. A portion of the practical experience requirement may be waived for applicants who have a degree in a computer intensive discipline from a regionally accredited academic institution. An Associate of Science degree may be used to offset 1 year of practical experience: a Bachelor of Science degree may be used to offset up to 2 years of practical experience: and a Master of Science degree (or equivalent) may be used to offset up to 3 years of practical experience. Applicant's grade point scores for computer courses must be at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale to qualify for education substitution.
- A minimum of three NCOER's that reflect outstanding duty performance ratings in signal systems support and/or LAN Administration.
- A minimum of six semester hours of college level English from an accredited academic institution. Speech and public speaking courses are not considered as meeting this requirement even if administered by the English department of an institution. Successful completion of the CLEP general examination in English is the only acceptable alternative. This prerequisite is not waiverable.
- Attain 12th grade equivalency on the Reading Grade Level portion (vocabulary and comprehension) of the Test of Adult Basic Education-A (TABE-A, or TABE-D) and include a copy of the results authenticated by the Test Control Officer of Educational Services Officer. This prerequisite is not waiverable.

i am currently MOS 25S, E5. I also have a BA in English. Considering applying next year for warrant. thanks for your help
^^ According to the Prerequisites you would not qualify.
However your MOS is a feeder for a 140E Air Missle Defense Technician. Here is an official Army Warrant Officer Recruiting site. You can view all the Technician Possitions and feeder MOS requirements. This way I dont have to copy paste existing info.
Best of luck.
PM sent.

I am a signal warrant officer that went to Fort Gordon for WOBC in 2008 (also WOCS at Fort Rucker in the same year). I am a 251A not a 254 but the three signal MOSes 251A, 250N, 254A are merging anyway to 255 so if you have any questions, feel free to post them here or PM me.
No such thing as signal WOCS. WOCS stands for warrant officer candidate school which there is only one active one which is at Fort Gordon. There are some RTIs (regional) that the reserve/national guard components can attend but I am not familiar with those.
WOBC (warrant officer basic course) is your job school after you successfully complete WOCS. Again, mine was at Fort Gordon and 251A is the only one that is considered as a PCS since the length is longer than 250 or 254. In that case, yes you can bring your family with you. The other courses are classified as TDY.

With the signal warrant positions, you dont have to have the enlisted feeder. I was a 31B military policeman that applied for signal and now serve as one. I made it on my second try.
My background was that I was an E-6 with combat experience; had a bachelor's degree. 12 years of civilian IT experience and 4 years as a computer programmer (4063) in the US Marine Corps. I was actually out of the computer field for 4 years when being selected. If I can make it; anyone can lol.

I did SFC lol. that was an old link. Signal use to be 31 series and that changed to 25. MPs are now 31. So a 31U is a 25U and a 74B is the same as a 25B. If you look at the pre-requisites for 251, 250 and 254 they are all basically the same. I applied for all three but proponent just boarded me on 251 and 250 based on my background. 254 was actually the catch all.
Believe me, I know the Warrant Officer recruiting website (especially the signal MOSes) like the back of my hand lol

BELOW IS THE WARRANT PRE-REQS FOR 254A
254A - Signal Systems Support Technician
Duties: Signal Systems Support Technicians supervise and manage the tactical Internet and administer the local area network (LAN) and radio systems in tactical operation centers (TOC). They plan, administer, manage, maintain, operate, integrate, secure and troubleshoot Army Battle Command System (ABCS), Automated Information Systems (AIS), tactical data distribution, and radio systems. They lead personnel and sections and manage the training of personnel on the installation, administration, management, maintenance, operation, integration, securing and troubleshooting of tactical ABCS/AIS, intranets, radio systems, and video teleconferencing systems. They perform system integration and administration and implement Information Assurance programs to protect and defend information, computers, and networks from disruption, denial of service, degradation, or destruction. They develop policy recommendations and advise commanders and staffs on planning, installing, administering, managing, maintaining, operating, integrating and securing ABCS/AIS, intranets, radio systems, and video teleconferencing systems on Army, Joint, Combined, and Coalition networks.
Minimum prerequisites (all general prerequisites apply):
• Be a SGT (E5) or above.
Four years of documented practical experience in Signal systems support, Army Battle Command System (ABCS), Automated Information Systems (AIS) administration, Local Area Network (LAN) administration, and/or Information Assurance/Computer Network Defense (IA/CND).
o Practical experience may be documented through NCO evaluation reports and award citations. In some instances practical experience acquired from civilian employment may
be acceptable provided the experience can be documented by employee evaluations or performance appraisals and determined to be equivalent to military experience.
• A minimum of 36 months of rated time documented in NCOERs.
o This is the minimum prerequisite; all NCOERs must be submitted for consideration.
o Applicant’s three most recent NCOERs must reflect outstanding duty performance ratings.
• A minimum of six semester hours of college level English from an accredited academic institution. Speech and public speaking courses are not considered as meeting this requirement
even if administered by the English department of an institution. Successful completion of the CLEP general examination in English or an Associates degree or higher (when the
preponderance of college credit is from college instruction vice credited experience) are the only acceptable alternatives.
• Applicants with Reserve Component time must submit official documentation in order to properly compute the length of Active Federal Service. Documentation may be a DA Form 1506
(i.e., Statement of Service), an official memorandum (on unit letterhead) signed by the unit S1, or similar documentation (e.g., RPAM statement).
Reserve Component Only: Waiver requests for E4s and/or for the minimum of three NCOER’s will be considered on a case-by-case base.
NOTE: Although a letter from a senior Signal Warrant Officer is not required, it will add weight to the overall strength of the packet. In its place, and of much greater value, is a letter from an IT professional (e.g., your unit S3 or S6, a GS-13, or, even better, a senior Signal Warrant Officer), with personal knowledge of your technical skills and leadership potential. Additionally, though not a requirement nor a prerequisite, the following certification (in order) also provide great weight to the overall strength of the packet and should be cited in the resume and included in the packet: CCSP, CCNP, CCNA, and MCSE.
Please contact the proponent POC below only for questions regarding ANY qualifications. Address all other inquiries to the Warrant Officer Recruiting Branch.
