Default Who the HELL are you, Soldier?

I added a new mod just now, forces people to register/login after viewing 2 posts. Yeah, it's a pretty shameless way of getting folks to register. Pretty girl with a gun. Suggestions, thoughts, feedback appreciated. Logout to check out how it works...try and view more then 2 posts without being logged on.

Nice idea..Also how about making it mandatory to post an introduction in the Introductions before being allowed to post in other categories? I've seen other forums do this... But anywhoo keep up the good work

It's good idea, Jerad. That way we'll know who we're responding to when they post without an intro!

I still can't get the full view when I use the new format with IE8 but the old version works fine & I'm used to it so it's no bother at all.

Glenn, it's time to upgrade to a big boy browser! Get Mozilla Firefox. Leaps and bounds beyond IE.

Im in the same boat as my MSG brother above. I get all the red X;s on the main page but in the forums I get the whole shabang. I refuse to swithch to IE8 because my wifes online courses conflict with IE8 and we cant afford for her to miss any exams.

Love her! Very original! I liked fighter's suggestion for the mandatory intros-one sight I used to be on has a thread soley devoted to newbies, stickered at the top of the Intros section-like a permission to enter sort of thing

I tried Firefox & it screwed up about half of the other sites I frequent. I had nothing but trouble on several different computers with Firefox. This is the only site right now that is affected by IE8 so majority rules. I had Firefox on my computer at the jobsite when I did security & it did the same thing on those same sites. There was always something on the page that was omitted using Firefox just like IE8 does here. I just went back to the original format, vB3 style, which I really don't mind & it doesn't bother me in the least. I'm forced to stick with IE8 & I never had a problem with anything using IE7.

There's a box on the lower bottom of the home page that gives an option as to what style you want to use. The new format is "sem fluid". The original format is "vB3" for those of you having a problem. This way I can tell which pages have new posts. Otherwise I gett the same thing that Dibble gets - red Xs. I think Misssinhim has the same problem.

hey about the IE8 stuff, I know it's got some compatibility problems, the designer is working on it. I will definitely get it resolved one way or another. Also...+2 for all you using mozilla =) The introductions threads are a good idea...I will look around and see what I can find.

Thanks for the feedback folks, much appreciated.
